Scholarships & Merit Awards

Boston University offers a variety of full-tuition merit-based scholarships.

Trustee Scholarship

The Trustee Scholarship recognizes students who show outstanding academic and leadership abilities with exceptional records of service and activity in their schools and communities. Students must be nominated by their principal or headmaster and write an additional essay. More information, the nomination form, and the essay questions are available at bu.edu

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship recognizes academically gifted students with proven leadership abilities, a strong commitment to social justice and a record of community involvement. In exchange for 100 hours of community service in conjunction with BU, the scholarship winners receive full tuition for up to four years. Students must be nominated by a teacher, mentor, or advisor and write an additional essay. More information, the nomination form, and the essay question are available at bu.edu

Alexander Graham Bell Scholarship

The Alexander Graham Bell Scholarship recognizes strong math and science students who would thrive in Boston University's College of Engineering. Recipients receive full tuition for four years, funding for a semester of research with a professor in the College in the first two years, and guaranteed admission into a Boston University College of Engineering master's degree program. School of Education Presidential Scholarship

The School of Education Presidential Scholarship awards four years of full-tuition to a select number of students who have been admitted to the School of Education. An additional essay is required. More information and the essay question are available at bu.edu
