University of South Carolina High School Math Contest

Since 1986, the University of South Carolina Math Competition has taken place every year at USC in Columbia, SC.

Contest Format

Individual Test

The individual test is a 30 question, multiple choice test. The time limit is 90 minutes. Calculators are not allowed.

The test is scored as 5 points for every correct response, 1 point for a blank response, and 0 points for an incorrect response.

Ciphering

Each team consists of three students. These three students take place in the ciphering portion of the competition.

Winners

In 2006, the individual winner was Joe Laurendi, an Art of Problem Solving member. The team winner was Summerville High School in the large schools division.
