The Utah State Math Contest is a math competition hosted by Utah State University available to students in middle and high school. The competition is divided into to divisions: the Junior Division (7th - 9th grade), and the Senior Division (10th - 12th grade).

There are 30 questions in both tests, with 2 1/2 hours given to complete the problems. Correct answers are worth 4 points, incorrect answers worth -1, and unanswered questions are worth 0 points. There are 4 choices for each question. Thus, the expected score given by purely guessing is 0.
