Topology

Topology is a field of mathematics that can be considered an extension to geometry: It involves the study of space and its structure. "A topology" can also refer to specific kind of mathematical construct which satisfies certain axioms. Topology is often considered to be one of the cornerstones of what is colloquially known as "pure mathematics", i.e. mathematics studied in order to make mathematics more stable and powerful.
