Jadhav's Isosceles Formula is a formula derived by Jyotiraditya Jadhav used to evaluate the area of any isosceles triangle given the lengths of the congruent sides and the measure of the angle formed between them.

Statement

In any isosceles triangle let the 'length of congruent sides be $s$ and the angle formed between these sides be $\theta$. Then, the area of the triangle can is equal to

\[\sin(\frac{\theta}{2})cos(\frac{\theta}{2}){s^2}\]

Applications

  • Can be used to determine the area of an Isosceles triangle
  • Can be used to find the angle formed between two equal sides of the triangle given area
