Emily Castner, known as ecastner started working online for AoPS in 2015 and joined headquarters full time in 2020. The crowning achievement of her mathletics career at Mount Holyoke College was solving one problem (enough to score in the top quartile!?) on the Putnam exam. While majoring in math, she won the Carol Loeb ’63 Fellowship in the Teaching of Mathematics and started a student chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics. While minoring in music, she learned to play the organ (slowly) and picked up the nickname Theorem. Check out her theorems in "On the equivalence of Playfair's axiom to the parallel postulate" and her many presentations about an equiangular isosceles triangle. Emily practices Naginata, a Japanese weapons art, and earned her black belt in Germany.
