Writing scholarships
The following list of writing scholarships is primarily for American writing students. This list can be reorganized to incorporate scholarship programs in other countries. Just make that reorganization as clear and as clean as possible.
Additions to this list are welcomed and encouraged. Please don't be stingy about letting students in on how they can finance their educations!
General Writing Scholarships
- AES Engineers Scholarships of <dollar/>500 for high school seniors and college students. Students do not have to be taking engineering courses. Winners are selected based on their essays.
- ALBA Essay Contest
- Arts Recognition and Talent Search Awards for high school and college students (17, 18 years of age) who excel in the in the literary, visual and performing arts, including dance, cinematic arts, jazz, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice, and writing.
- Ayn Rand Foundation Essay Contests
- B. Davis Scholarship. <dollar/>1,000 for winning essay.
- Bridgestone Safety Scholarship Video Contest
- Costculator Scholarship Program Anyone studying in a college or university can apply for a $1,000 award. Participants would have to send essays on a topic mentioned in the scholarship page. Best submission would be picked for the award.
- Creative Communication Poetry and Essay Contests. Top Ten winners receive a <dollar/>50 savings bond
- Dr. Seuss's Oh, the Place you'll Go! College Scholarship. <dollar/>5,000 for winning essay
- FTF Teen Travel Writing Scholarship. <dollar/>1,000 for winning essay.
- Kaplan's My Turn Essay Contest
- MoneyKey Scholarship Program (500-750 word essay)
- Olive Garden's Pasta Tales Essay Contest
- OP Loftbed Writing Scholarship
- Penguin Group Signet Classics Student Scholarship Essay Contest
- Scholastic Inc. Art & Writing Awards
- SeniorCare.com Aging Matters Scholarship (<1000 word essay)
- Support Collectors Scholarship
- Wikoff Scholarship for Editorial Leadership. <dollar/>1,000 for a high school senior on the staff of an NSPA member newspaper.
