Writing scholarships

The following list of writing scholarships is primarily for American writing students. This list can be reorganized to incorporate scholarship programs in other countries. Just make that reorganization as clear and as clean as possible.

Additions to this list are welcomed and encouraged. Please don't be stingy about letting students in on how they can finance their educations!

General Writing Scholarships

  • AES Engineers Scholarships of 500 dollars for high school seniors and college students. Students do not have to be taking engineering courses. Winners are selected based on their essays.
  • ALBA Essay Contest
  • Arts Recognition and Talent Search Awards for high school and college students (17, 18 years of age) who excel in the in the literary, visual and performing arts, including dance, cinematic arts, jazz, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice, and writing.
  • AutoAccident.com Scholarship USD 1000 for high school seniors who will be attending college in the fall semester of 2020. Deadline May 1, 2020. The essay should be approximately 500 words in length. In your own words, please tell us how you'd make the streets a safer place for everyone and reduce auto accidents.
  • BELK Tile Scholarship Program for students who is currently enrolled, or plan to be enrolled during the upcoming academic semester at a USA university as an undergraduate or graduate student.
  • BOSTER SCHOLARSHIP USD 1000 for students with an interest in pursuing or continuing a 4-year academic program related to Biology Technology, to aid their scientific research in college.
  • Seasonsbeachcottage.com Mental health Education Scholarship Program The Beach Cottage at Seasons in Malibu: Luxury Mental Health Treatment is pleased to announce the details of our annual “Mental health Education Scholarship.” The scholarship is open to any major who can shed light on this issue. It may be a personal story that you can share or a more researched essay.
