Problem 6

Nick has six nickels (5¢ coins), two dimes (10¢ coins) and one quarter (25¢ coin). In cents (¢), how much money does Nick have?

$\textbf{(A)}\ 65\qquad\textbf{(B)}\ 75\qquad\textbf{(C)}\ 35\qquad\textbf{(D)}\ 15\qquad\textbf{(E)}\ 55$

Solution

We can change the problem to 6x5+2x10+1x25 = 30+20+25 which is equal to $\boxed{ \textbf{(B) }75 }$
