A parallelogram is a geometric figure that lies in the plane. Its properties include:

  • Opposite angles are congruent
  • Each diagonal divides the figure into 2 sets congruent triangles
  • Both diagonals together divide the figure into 2 pairs of 2 congruent triangles. All 4 triangles have equal area.
