Alabama's math competition community is fairly large and active and there are a number of quality contests around the state for both middle and high school students.

AoPS hosts middle school math forums where students can discuss contest problems and mathematics.

• UAH Math Tournament -- Grades 4 - 8
• Alabama MathCounts -- part of the MathCounts competition.
• Ala-La-Miss Mathematics League
• Alabama School of Fine Arts -- 6th grade, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I. Geometry (coming 2015)
• Cedar Ridge Middle -- Grades 6 - 8
• Hoover Middle School Tournament -- Grades 6 - 8
• Hoover High School -- Grades 7-12
• Muscle Shoals Middle Tournament -- Grades 6 - 8
• Pizitz Middle School Math Tournament -- Grades 6 - 8
• Randolph School -- Grades 5 - 6
• Vestavia Hills High School Math Tournament-- Grades 7-12. The VHHS tournament is one of the nation's largest local math tournaments, drawing around 1700 students annually.
