The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is a private university well known for its excellence in math and science education. It is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, near Harvard. The two schools collaborate to host the Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament, whose site alternates between MIT and Harvard. Students at each school are able to take classes at the other.
