National Competition Format
The competition takes place online and consists of two rounds: the Dash Round (40 fundamental questions in 4 sections) the Spark Round (20 challenging questions in 4 sections).
In the competition week, the competition begins on Monday and concludes on Thursday night at 11:59 p.m.
- Round 1, the Dash Round, comprises 40 questions, carrying a total of 80 points. This round assesses students' understanding of concepts and fundamental skills. Participants have a two-day window—Monday and Tuesday—to complete Round 1. It is recommended to allocate at least 60 minutes for this round. The submission deadline is midnight on Tuesday.
- Round 2, the Spark Round, includes 20 challenging questions, also totaling 80 points. This round presents interesting and more advanced problems suitable for the respective grade level. Participants have 2 days—Wednesday and Thursday—to complete Round 2. It is recommended to allocate at least 60 minutes for this round. The submission deadline is midnight on Thursday.
- For each round, each section or exam is individually timed from the moment the student opens it. On average, completing each exam takes less than 15 minutes. However, if an exam is not submitted within 30 minutes, the session will time out, and that particular exam will not be counted.
- It is important to note that students should work on the exams in the given order as some later questions may rely on the context provided by previous ones.
- Competition rankings are determined by the students' total scores. In the event of a tie, the total time spent becomes the tie-breaker.
- On Saturday, participants can access their competition scores, percentiles, and statistical data in their accounts. The top-performing students will be recognized and honored on the competition result page.
