This program is for high school seniors planning to pursue a four-year degree on a full-time basis in a U.S. college or university. Applicants are judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need for four-year scholarships ranging from <dollar/>1,000 per year to <dollar/>15,000 per year.

Requirements

  • Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.
  • Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
  • College students are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.
  • Male and female students compete separately.

Amount

500 Four-Year Awards for the 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-2014, 2014-15 Academic Years

  • 2 first place four-year total awards of <dollar/>60,000 each
  • 2 second place awards of <dollar/>40,000 each
  • 2 third place awards of <dollar/>20,000 each
  • 2 fourth place awards of <dollar/>16,000 each
  • 2 fifth place awards of <dollar/>12,000 each
  • 4 sixth place awards of <dollar/>10,000 each
  • 4 seventh place awards of <dollar/>8,000 each
  • 482 runners up receive <dollar/>4,000 each
