In probability, a series of independent events is where one event does not rely on another.

To calculate the probability of all independent events happening in the series, multiply the probability of each of them.
To calculate the probability of any (or at least or exactly of some amount of) independent events happening in the series, use the Principle of Inclusion-Exclusion (PIE).
