The Purple Comet! Math Meet is a free, annual, international, on-line, team, mathematics contest designed for middle and high school students. Run from the web site purplecomet.org, it is sponsored by AwesomeMath.
Each team competing needs an adult supervisor who registers at the web site and then signs up as many teams as they want. Each team may have as many as six students. Middle School teams have 60 minutes to solve 20 problems. High School teams have 90 minutes to solve 30 problems. Teams compete any time during a ten-day window.
The contest is in English, but problem translations are provided in many languages. Registered teams may work previous contests for practice. All competitors receive a certificate of participation or an award certificate.
