Problem

What is the remainder when $x^{51}+51$ is divided by $x+1$?

Solution

From the Remainder Theorem, the remainder when $x^{51}+51$ is divided by $x+1$ is $(-1)^{51}+51=-1+51=50, \boxed{\text{D}}$.
