The purpose of the Posse scholarships is to encourage leadership and diversity. Posse's four-year full-tuition scholarships are available to nominated students living in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York or Washington, D.C. Posse sends multicultural teams of 10 students each to participating universities, providing a support system for the students.

Requirements

The scholarship is not minority- or need-based. It is open to high school seniors of all backgrounds who must:

  • Be nominated by their high school or a community-based organization.
  • Be in the first term of their senior year in high school. Depending on the Posse city, nominations are often taken between the spring and early August before the new school year begins.
  • Demonstrate leadership within their high school, community or family.
  • Demonstrate academic potential.

  • Four-year full-tuition scholarship
  • Support system (mentor and team of 10 students)
