There's already a page started on base numbers. Hm, maybe number bases is a better wording than base numbers?...what do you think? We can always take everything from the base numbers article and put it in the number bases article and then delete the former. Joe 13:35, 22 June 2006 (EDT)
In the AoPS intro to number theory class, number bases are referred to as base numbers. --IntrepidMath 15:30, 22 June 2006 (EDT)
Well, there are numbers, number systems, numerals, and bases of number systems. I have no idea if what I do in class follows general convention or not. I use plain language in class because I believe it's better to teach that way. In the wiki, I would be sure to look up proper usage of terms more often. In other words, I'll let you guys decide.--MCrawford 15:36, 22 June 2006 (EDT)
We are dealing with bases. Bases only exist in positional number systems. Base number basically is saying the number that the base is. On the other hand, we are really trying to explain what a number's base is.
Also, we have the various kinds of bases: triangle bases, logarithmic bases, and base number really clashes with that. Thus number base is what I think we should go with.
As for precident, wikipedia has Number base redirect to radix, and base number is not an article there. Mathworld has all the base topics on one page. (Though logarithmic bases get just a single paragraph at the bottom.)--solafidefarms 17:22, 22 June 2006 (EDT)
If nobody minds, I'm cleaning out dead-end articles right now, adding relevant links.--solafidefarms 16:54, 22 June 2006 (EDT)
Pascal's Triangle
I believe that image is from the math forum at www.mathforum.org. If that is a problem (copyrights and stuff) I have taken the image down until I get a response. Thanks. --Sean 21:18, 23 June 2006 (EDT)

Why don't you go ahead and write an article on the Word Power Challenge?--MCrawford 17:29, 26 June 2006 (EDT) There, I started one. Not great yet, but I can work on it more. (When I make a WP prep website, will it be allowable to put a link to it on that page?)--solafidefarms 20:46, 26 June 2006 (EDT)
when are you going to make that word power prep website?--Anirudh 08:17, 1 January 2007 (EST)
